Radboud University Medical Center (RUMC)

Radboud University Medical Center is a broad, internationally oriented research university. Our academic expertise is closely related to important societal issues, both in the public and in the private domain. Within the Developmental Psychobiology lab (DPBlab) we focus on early influences on development. Our lab’s research includes three lines: first, influences of prenatal and postnatal maternal mental wellbeing on children’s health and behavioural development; second, development of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis in children, the body’s most important stress system, and its relation to behavioural and emotional regulation and physical health. And third, the development of the intestinal microbiota and its relation to children’s health, behavioural and emotion regulation, and HPA axis. The DPBlab is part of the Behavioural Science Institute (BSI) of Radboud University. A unique feature of BSI is its integrative approach to human behaviour that transcends the traditional disciplinary boundaries of psychology and education. Website: https://dpblab.org/
